We interviewed Hilton Adelaide's Wedding Planner, Toni Herbert about what couples can expect when booking their wedding with Hiton Adelaide., As an expert wedding planner, Toni shares some great tips that will keep you best prepared as you start your wedding planning journey.

Q.What sets the Hilton Adelaide apart as a premier wedding venue in Adelaide in terms of luxury and sophistication?
A.Hilton Adelaide houses the largest, pillar-free hotel Ballroom in South Australia. This allows us to create the outstanding, eye-catching Weddings you will see on our Instagram! Creating ‘Wow’ moments that guests will remember forever is what makes us tick and what we are here to help our couples achieve that. The grandeur of our Lobby and staircase along with the high ceilings of our Ballroom already has an air of elegance, then we work with our couples to add their personal touches to create truly memorable occasions.
 
Q.Could you walk us through the experience a couple can expect after they've chosen the Hilton Adelaide for their wedding?
A.Hilton Adelaide has a dedicated wedding planner to assist the couple through every step, from the initial inquiry through to the wedding day. The Hilton wedding planner will be by their side. Hilton understands every couple has a different image of their dream day, so we tailor every aspect to suit the Bride and Groom. We are excited to go on this journey with our couples.

Q.For couples who desire a luxurious wedding experience but are perhaps a bit more budget-conscious, what strategies or packages do you offer to help them make the most of their budget?
A.Hilton Adelaide has two wedding packages, which can be selected and used as they are, or we can use these as a base and build a bespoke wedding day around this, as big or as intimate as the couple desires.
 
Q.Tell us about the spaces and facilities at the Hilton Adelaide that cater to various wedding sizes and styles. What's the maximum guest capacity you can comfortably accommodate?
A.Hilton Adelaide has ideal spaces for weddings from 10 guests through to 500 guests.

 

COAL CELLAR + GRILL

Provides sleek semi-private spaces off the main restaurant for smaller receptions who wish to have a relaxed celebration.

GRAND BALLROOM

Our largest function space that accommodates 150 to 500 guests is our Grand Ballroom. Located on level one, this space allows your imagination to run wild with 5.8 meter ceilings and 651 square meters of uninterrupted floor space. A lot of magic can be created in this flexible space.

BALCONY ROOMS

These Mediterranean-inspired meeting rooms offer natural light and open space, which are sure to be appreciated by your guests. Balcony rooms are tucked away for privacy. The balcony patio overlooks Victoria Square.

THE GALLERY

VICTORIA

With a warm colour scheme and creative mesh ceiling, this room is one of the hotel’s most popular banquet spaces. Ideal for large receptions, lunches or dinners, this room seats up to 200 guests.

Q.In such a sought-after venue like the Hilton Adelaide, how far in advance should couples start considering booking to secure their preferred date?
A.If you have a preferred date in mind, I would suggest booking at least a year to a year and a half in advance, especially if you have over 150 guests, as our Ballroom is our prime space that gets booked out quickly! However, we have been seeing a lot more bookings coming in under a year, which is absolutely doable if you are happy to be flexible with the date!
 
Q.Based on your experience, what are some common oversights or mistakes couples make when choosing a wedding venue, especially when aiming for a luxurious hotel experience?
A.Capacity for all of the extras! Being realistic with the number of guests you may end up having, along with all the additional items such as photo booths or a band rather than a DJ, can all take up extra space that you may not have expected at the start! We want your guests to have an enjoyable experience, without being cramped or not being able to walk between tables!

Q.As someone with expertise in event coordination, could you share what aspect of orchestrating weddings at the Hilton Adelaide brings you the most satisfaction or joy?
A.The couples! We are in the hospitality industry, and this all comes back to our clients and guests. It is an absolute joy to work on such an important day with a couple for such a long time, and then see their faces when we reveal the room! These moments you can never forget and make it more than just a job! It is always so amazing to not only work with the bridal couple but also to meet the family and friends who are sharing their big life event.
 
Q.What advice would you offer to couples who are in the initial stages of planning their wedding and are starting to look for a venue that provides a top-tier, luxury experience like the Hilton Adelaide?
A.I would say take your time! Start with a list of what you must have and what you can negotiate on, and look at venues that suit. Often couples will look at almost every venue and end up more confused! It is not only what is offered in the wedding package that is important but the overall feeling you get when you enter the venue. I show our bridal couples the full venue and get them to experience the restaurant, the lobby, and the accommodation so they have a comprehensive sense of Hilton Adelaide.

Q.Can you highlight any unique features or exclusive offerings that make weddings at the Hilton Adelaide an extraordinary and memorable experience for couples and their guests?
A.Hilton Adelaide believes in creating a wedding day to suit each couple individually; no two are alike, so why would the wedding be. We have a great team of experienced chefs that can offer bespoke menus to ensure a couple’s heritage or background can be part of the day. We are open to new ideas and are willing to work with our couples and our suppliers to create dream weddings.
 
Q.In terms of creating a truly lavish wedding celebration, what are some additional services or amenities that the Hilton Adelaide can provide to elevate the experience for the couple and their guests?
A.We have a great network of suppliers we have been working with for many years. This has allowed us to work on new ideas and build items from scratch within our function rooms. Whether hanging from the ceiling or building from the floor up, our event coordination services go beyond general wedding planning. We specialize in concept creation and logistics to bring the physical to life to reflect the couple's style. We invite our couples in for a private tasting with our wedding planner and chef to ensure their guests' meal is perfect.
