The Brides Inspiration

Q: First of all, congratulations on your wedding day! Tell us about the inspiration behind your wedding's theme or style. How did you decide on the decor, colours, and overall ambiance?

A: Thank you so much! As I work in the industry as a wedding singer, I knew I wanted to keep it simple and classic with modern elements. I am a very neutral-colored gal even when it comes to my own wardrobe, so neutrals, whites, and a bit of metallics to give it something different was the vibe.

The Dress

Q: Your wedding dress was stunning! Can you tell us about the process of choosing your dress and how it made you feel when you finally wore it on your big day?

A: My dream dress was made by the very talented George Wu. It was a process as he lives in Brisbane. We started our journey about 12 months prior with FaceTime meetings, emailing sketches, and having fabric swatches sent to my house. I knew I didn’t want beading or lace, and I had seen this pleated fabric on a gown from Israel even before we got engaged, haha, and knew that was what I was looking for. I flew over for 4 fittings before taking it home, but it was honestly such an easy process as I knew EXACTLY what I wanted in a gown and he brought it to life.

The Planning Process

Q: Wedding planning can be overwhelming with so many details to consider. Were there any particular things you found helpful in staying organized and on top of everything?

A: Dealing with brides myself, I have figured out a really organised system to keep on top of things. This consists of many lists and making sure I was communicating with everyone via email so I had all my details written down. Then when it came time to meet with all our suppliers, I was jotting down everything so I didn’t miss a beat.

Personalised Touches

Q:The details make a wedding uniquely personal. Can you tell us about any personalised touches or special elements you included to make your day truly your own?

A: As a singer, I wrote a song for my husband that nobody knew about but my musical director/piano player Joe James. It was a tedious task to sneak away to the studio over the months leading up, but I performed it for my husband Anthony on our wedding night in front of our 200 family and friends which was super unique and special for both of us.

A Unique Strength

Q: Planning a wedding can be quite a journey. What was the most surprising or unexpected part of the planning process for you?

A: I didn’t really have any of these moments to be completely honest as I already knew what to expect being in the industry for 10 years now.

Advice to Brides

Q: For brides-to-be currently in the midst of wedding planning, what piece of advice would you offer to help them stay calm and enjoy the journey?

A: Stay true to yourself and what you want. It is your day and nobody should take that away from you. Enjoy the process as the whole experience from start to end goes by so quickly!

A Special Moment

Q: We're sure your wedding day was filled with heartwarming moments. Can you share a moment you found most special?

A: Singing my original song for Anthony was definitely a highlight, but we also opted to write our own vows which were so wholesome and special. Also, hearing my beautiful friend Chantelle Morrell, who I met on 'The Voice,’ sing me down the aisle sent shivers up my spine and it was a moment I won’t ever forget.

Words of Wisdom

Q: Now that you've had your dream wedding and can look back on the entire experience, what final words of wisdom would you share with brides-to-be who are about to embark on this beautiful journey?

A: Enjoy the day and take in every little micro moment - I had a moment to myself in my room before the ceremony and I was away from all the commotion about to get dressed and took it all in. It is very rare to get all your family and friends in the one room to celebrate your love and it does go by so fast so you have to savor every bit!
